A loan to help a member to purchase materials to improve the fencing at her pig farm.
Naomi is 35 years old and lives with her family in one of the settlements in Port Moresby. She works in pig farming and has been in this business for the last seven years.
This is Naomi's main business to support her children's education and her daily living needs. Though she is illiterate, she has the capacity to do farming. Moreover, from her struggles over the years, she has learned how to open a bank account and save money. From her savings in the bank, Naomi has been approved by the bank for a small loan.
In the photo above, Naomi is the second from the right in the row of women sitting. She is a first time borrower with her bank, but she is confident that she will be able to repay her loan, as she has learned how to save.
Naomi will purchase building materials to do maintenance on the current fence, as it is old and broken. She is a happy mother to be a part of the women's group, which is receiving loans from the bank to improve their small business.
