Welcome to the Las Mariposas #2 communal association, from Somotillo, Nicaragua. It is made up of eight clients whose businesses are selling tortillas, soft drinks, cosmetics, snacks, cooked beans, and dairy products.
Maria del Transito (wearing the yellow shirt with black stripes, black leggings, and pink clogs) is 49 years old. She has held the role of head of the group since 1997. She is single, and there are six people living in her house. She has four children.
Her dream is for her business to grow with each loan until it becomes a mini-supermarket. It is a great opportunity for her because the market is very far away.
She will use the loan to buy a press to make tortillas and to hire two people to make them. This will contribute to helping others bring food to their homes. It is always good to seek new opportunities to get ahead, both as an individual and a family.
